Andrei Goicea is the Policy Director at Nuclear Europe and a nuclear energy specialist with over 20 years of experience. He is an expert in managing and supporting nuclear projects.

He graduated from the University Politehnica of Bucharest in 2002 with a degree in Nuclear Engineering and went on to earn a master’s degree in Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety the following year.

With over 20 years in the industry, he has held key roles such as Executive Manager at nucleareurope and Deputy Project Manager at Slovenské Elektrárne. His decade-long tenure at S.N. Nuclearelectrica S.A. saw him advance from Senior Engineer to Technical Support Department Manager.

Andrei also led the European Nuclear Society – Young Generation Network (ENS-YGN) as Chairperson and served as President of the Young Generation Network – Romanian Nuclear Energy Association (AREN), driving youth engagement and industry collaboration.
