Will Shackel is the young founder of the organization Nuclear for Australia.
Although he never formally studied nuclear energy in school, Will’s interest in the technology grew out of his concerns about the energy transition and the climate crisis.
After conducting his own research and consulting with experts, he began sharing facts about nuclear energy on social media in 2022 and launched a petition to legalize nuclear power, which has now gathered nearly 100,000 signatures.
Since then, Nuclear for Australia has become the country’s largest pro-nuclear organization. Will remains actively involved, testifying before the Senate Committee in Canberra, attending COP28 (where he interviewed Emmanuel Macron), and regularly appearing on media programs such as Sunrise, A Current Affair, and Q+A.
