AIDA Joins the Nuclear Horizons Conference on SMR Deployment

On November 22, the Atomic Industry Development Association (AIDA) participated in the Nuclear Horizons: SMR Deployment and Integrated Energy Systems conference, organized by the New Nuclear Watch Institute (NNWI) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The event brought together energy leaders and experts to discuss the integration of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) into sustainable energy systems, focusing on technological innovation and infrastructure development.

 

A Vision for Regional Collaboration

During the conference, Aldiyar Toktarov, Chairman of AIDA, presented on “Shared Energy Future of Central Asia through the Development of Nuclear Technologies.” His address emphasized the critical role of collaboration between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in advancing nuclear technologies to secure a sustainable energy future for the region.

The discussions highlighted the transformative potential of SMRs and the importance of building a collaborative approach to nuclear energy development in Central Asia.
