Meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi
Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has arrived in Astana for a working visit.
As part of his visit, the IAEA chief delivered a lecture at Nazarbayev University, where he met with students, members of the scientific community, and specialists from Kazakhstan’s nuclear industry. Discussions during the event focused on the development of nuclear energy, workforce training, and international cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Bakhytzhan Kadyrbayev, Executive Director of the Association for the Development of the Nuclear Industry (AIDA), and Bekzhan Alimkulov, Deputy Executive Director, participated in the event. Representatives of the Association briefed Mr. Grossi on AIDA’s activities, outlining key areas of work, ongoing initiatives, and prospects for the future development of Kazakhstan’s nuclear industry.
The meeting served as an important platform for exchanging views on strengthening international cooperation, developing industry-specific competencies, and supporting projects aimed at advancing the country’s nuclear industry.
