The Atomic Industry Development Association (AIDA) unveiled a mural in honor of Kazakhstan’s Nuclear Industry Workers’ Day.
Astana, October 4, 2024 – The Atomic Industry Development Association (AIDA) presented a new mural to the residents of Astana and all nuclear workers of Kazakhstan, celebrating the contribution of nuclear industry employees to the country’s prosperity. The mural was unveiled in honor of Nuclear Industry Workers’ Day, observed on September 28, and aims to recognize the achievements of nuclear professionals while highlighting their ongoing efforts to build a cleaner, more progressive future for Kazakhstan.
Spanning 710 square meters, the mural adorns a building wall in Astana’s Almaty District. At the center of the artwork is a symbol of peaceful nuclear energy, floating in the sky. Reaching towards this symbol are hands, representing humanity’s desire to harness and safely use nuclear energy to achieve its development goals.
The mural reflects both modern elements of urban life and nature. The depiction of the city’s business district emphasizes the dynamism and drive for innovation, while the image of green plants highlights a focus on environmental care and ecological well-being. Additionally, the mural showcases the sky over Astana, renowned for its beauty and vibrancy.
“It is extremely important for us to recognize the contributions of Kazakhstan’s nuclear industry workers, who tirelessly work for the benefit of the country. This mural is not just a vibrant element of the cityscape, but also a tribute to those who pave the way for a safe and environmentally clean future for Kazakhstan through their dedication. The nuclear industry is undeniably a part of Kazakhstan’s past, present, and future,” said Aldiyar Toktarov, Chairman of AIDA.
